Competition Grade Wood is wood that has been properly debarked and cleaned to ensure the best burn and cleanest smoke! We go to great lengths to ensure that is the best wood you'll ever cook with!
4. What is the difference between naturally cured and kiln dried?

Kiln drying wood is the process of using a commercial kiln to remove the moisture from wood. While this does speed up the drying process, many Pitmasters say that it also removes a lot of the natural flavor from the wood. Our process of naturally curing takes longer, but ensures the natural flavors in the wood are retained.
5. How do I know which type of wood to buy?

All woods have their own benefits and unique flavors and there is no one wood that is best for cooking with. It all depends on your preferred flavor profile. Blending different types of woods is also a popular method among many cooks.
